BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Surgery Veterinary Technician

to work in our Surgery department. Please note that this position will start at our hospital in Gwinnett and then transfer over to Johns Creek.

Pay: $21 - $42 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:

Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

Utilize your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.

Perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal.

Be able to set up intravenous fluids.

Administer subcutaneous fluids.

Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.

Disengage and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.

Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
