Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently install, configure, test, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, maintain and inspect transmitters, pressure and level controllers.

Perform panel design and implementation to include human machine interface (HMI) and power distribution design. Inspect existing panels to ensure proper function and application.

Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), control circuits, and programmable logic controller (PLC) operations.

Oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical, electronic and pneumatic components on gas processing units (GPU), generator control panel and units, pump units, ignition systems, and burner management systems.

Understand, apply, and identify areas of improvement by incorporating the principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in instrumentation & electrical, such as digital multi‑meters, pressure calibrators, temperature calibrators (RTD and thermocouples), RS232, RS485 communications, and 475 Hart communicators.

Routinely plan, schedule, and perform corrective and preventative maintenance. Accurately record all work orders, updates, maintenance and repair of equipment utilizing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.

Read and interpret Product Service Manuals (PSM) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to assist with planning and assigning tasks, scheduling manpower, estimating costs, and properly documenting job specifics and results.

Assist in creating departmental procedures and ensure instrumentation & electrical staff and contractors are trained appropriately. Provide technical training and assist with PLC training and flow computer setup.

Help guide, mentor, and direct less experienced instrumentation & electrical technicians and contractors with operating systems, equipment install, maintenance, repair, questions, etc. and to ensure proper processes and procedures are followed.

Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others, and safety of the surrounding areas.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

At least five (5) years of instrumentation & electrical experience.

CORE COMPETENCIES

Thorough knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.

Demonstrated proficiency with process control, piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, one‑line drawings, loop sheets and wire lists.

Functional knowledge of SCADA and PLC control systems and ability to calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.

Ability to read and understand P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and technical operational manuals.

Technical ability to diagnose flow computers and interpret gas analysis.

Ability to teach electrical and control systems for simple to complex process equipment.

Familiar with different electrical power systems, equipment, tools, wiring, and high voltage.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc., and use/operation of standard office equipment.

Good presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with others internally and externally.

Ability to be detail orientated, self‑started, and work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining goals and tasks.

Ability to foster teamwork by working cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED

Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.

Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.

Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Field Related

Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi‑line telephone system.

Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32 °F or above 100 °F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.

Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.

Confined Space: work areas large enough for an individual to enter, limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continued occupancy.

Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.

HOURS / SHIFTS

Regular business hours. For example, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 3 pm.

Alternative shift schedule: 7 & 7

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Regularly lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Regularly be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.

Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.

TRAVEL

Minimal travel may be required to other locations.

Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 80% of time in field.
