Registered Nurse (RN) – Citadel Healthcare Base pay range:

$33.50/hr – $45.00/hr

Citadel Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Bourbonnais, IL. As an RN you will assume responsibility and accountability for a group of residents or a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Ensure assigned work area (nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

Takes and records residents' blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments).

Chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and the resident’s response to the care.

Ensure the resident’s environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately correct/ address potential safety risks as prudent and warranted.

Monitor and direct non-licensed ancillary services as needed to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care.

Communicate/report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by facility policy and State/Federal guidelines.

Ensure that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained; make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.

Ensure compliance with infection control standards and immediately correct/ address identified instances of non‑compliance.

Follow and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Registered Nurse Qualifications and Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction.

Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.

Analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.

Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.

Possesses special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with short and long‑term care residents and the elderly.

Meets all health requirements, as required by law.

Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, email).

Registered Nurse Education and Experience

Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.

Current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred 1 year of experience; long‑term care experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without mechanical devices is required.

Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
