As a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Banner Churchill , you will be part of a team that consists of highly engaged individuals who work well together to meet the needs of patients. You will be offering a wide range of programs and services to aid in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness in all stages of life, from infant to geriatric.

Located in Fallon, Nev., Banner Churchill Community Hospital is a 25‑bed licensed hospital offering the most comprehensive array of medical services in rural northern Nevada. We provide comprehensive and emergency care, including ambulance service that covers more than 5,900 square miles. This makes us one of only two hospital‑operated paramedic/EMT/EMS providers in northern Nevada. POSITION SUMMARY This position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health‑care settings.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Perform all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
Apply and manage mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners, recommending adjustments to improve clinical condition, patient comfort and to expedite the weaning process.
Assemble, disassemble, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, clean, and perform adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory care as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
Perform pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
Perform patient assessments and evaluate patient response to care provided, making recommendations to physicians regarding the plan of care, appropriate use of respiratory therapy and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes. Document therapy provided in an accurate and complete manner in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
Communicate and collaborate with resource staff in formulating care plans, recommendations for change in therapy and identification/resolution of problems.
May supervise department staff.
Independently(periodic) provide respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health‑care settings. May be assigned to a variety of areas throughout the system where respiratory care is needed. Internal customers: All levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health‑care team. External customers: Physicians and their office staff, payers, community agencies and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). RRT required for all new hires after October 1, 2015. Incumbents must possess their RRT by October 1, 2017. Current Nevada license and Blood Gas Technologist certification required.
Minimum of one year experience in an acute‑care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute‑care setting within the past 12 months as an RRT in the specialty area.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. In Home‑Care settings, must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Knowledge of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through one year of clinical experience. Highly effective human‑relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel.
Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for കോട്ട the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
