Middle Office Analyst – Insurance Operations (Junior Level) Work Arrangement:

Role Overview The Middle Office Analyst – Insurance Operations is responsible for the end-to-end management of credit insurance across applicable transactions. This role partners closely with Front Office business lines, Operations Management, and external insurance brokers to ensure accurate premium calculations, timely payments, proper system booking, and ongoing monitoring. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and analytically strong, with a focus on minimizing operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

Insurance Lifecycle Management:

Act as the subject matter expert for all credit insurance activities, from pre-closing review (where applicable) through payment, booking, and setup in Loan IQ (LIQ).

Premium Calculation & Processing:

Accurately calculate insurance premiums based on credit agreements and insurance certificates; ensure timely payment to brokers.

System Booking & Monitoring:

Properly book, monitor, and reconcile all insurance-related transactions in Loan IQ, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Documentation Review:

Review insurance policies and related legal documentation to interpret insurance requirements and ensure correct booking and processing.

Pre-Funding Verification:

Validate all insurance-related calculations and ensure initial deposits are made to brokers prior to funding.

Coordination & Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related inquiries from Front Office teams, Middle Office partners, and external brokers.

Risk & Compliance:

Monitor insurance covenants and reporting requirements, escalating discrepancies or risks to management and relevant stakeholders.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy across insurance booking, reconciliation, and reporting processes.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience supporting commercial lending or asset finance operations at a commercial bank.

Hands‑on experience managing insurance components within lending or financing deals (required).

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business discipline.

Familiarity with banking systems such as

Loan IQ, Cash Plus, and FBTI

is a plus.

Intermediate proficiency in

Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint .

Solid understanding of financial statements, with the ability to calculate and interpret financial ratios.
