Safety Engineer - Commercial Construction (Southern Wisconsin)

We are seeking a Safety Engineer who is energized by active jobsites, earns credibility with field teams, and is committed to building a strong, practical safety culture.

What You’ll Do
Partner with project management and field leadership to develop and implement site‑specific safety plans.
Conduct regular, documented jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
Lead and support incident investigations with a focus on prevention, learning, and continuous improvement.
Deliver safety training, new‑hire orientations, and toolbox talks.
Identify safety trends and proactively implement risk‑reduction strategies.
Review subcontractor safety programs and participate in preconstruction and preparatory meetings.
Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and required postings.
Serve as a trusted safety resource and liaison between field teams and leadership.
Represent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety Council.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field OR 5–7 years of commercial construction safety experience in lieu of a degree.
OSHA 30‑Hour Certification (required).
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels without relying on authority.
Practical, solutions‑oriented approach with sound judgment and follow‑through.
Ability to work on active construction sites, including walking jobsites, climbing ladders, and navigating multi‑level structures.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.
