Housekeeping Aide On Call Evening Shift

Job Summary
Under direct supervision, clean and maintain an assigned area and perform a variety of environmental services duties in and around the medical center to maintain a neat, orderly, sanitary, and safe environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Operate and utilize equipment including cleaner, wet mop unit, dust pay, dust mop, back vacuum, automatic floor scrubber, shampoo machine, high speed buffer, carpet extractor, wet/dry vacuum, floor buffer, wall washer, utility cart, sanipac, compactor, and bailer.
Use standard cleaning products to clean patient areas (restrooms, discharge beds, woodwork, horizontal surfaces, TVs, cabinets, furniture, glass, walls, floors, all affixed items), replenish dispensers, remove soiled linen and trash.
Use standard cleaning products to clean auxiliary areas (medication room, nursing station, tub room, soiled utility rooms, storage areas, staff lounge, quiet rooms, offices, exam rooms, treatment rooms, waiting rooms, lobbies, elevators, water fountains, ice machines, telephones, high dusting).
Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, plastic liners, paper cups, and seat covers.
Report unsafe conditions such as defective or damaged equipment.
Ensure sharp objects are in proper containers, follow safety rules and use proper body mechanics (lifting techniques).
Qualifications
Moderate to heavy lifting ability: lift 50 lbs, carry 25 lb items, push carts up to 200 lbs, perform frequent pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, extensive standing and walking.
Ability to operate all types of floor machinery and other housekeeping equipment.
Good understanding and effective communication.
Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months experience preferred.
