We’re looking for an experienced
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
who loves a challenge, understands and appreciates the sense of urgency often required when dealing with a diverse startup client base and the demands of a consulting firm. The selected individual will work full‑time as a member of our team, providing Controllership services to a portfolio of our growing startup client base.
Core Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting function for a portfolio of client startup companies
Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable in accordance with GAAP
Cost accounting, when required
Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of monthly financial statements for CFO review
Preparation of any required debt amortization schedules, or depreciation schedules
Payroll processing
Financial analysis, as needed
Compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Coordination of the preparation of required tax returns (we don’t do taxes, but we facilitate the preparation with qualified professionals)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or Finance
5+ years of experience in an accounting role
Mastery of the balance sheet and balance reconciliation process
Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software packages
Extensive experience with Microsoft suite, including financial modeling and analysis in Excel
Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and manage a portfolio of dynamic and diverse clients
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and take direction in support of the company’s goals
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self‑motivation and self‑direction
CPA
is a big plus!
Prior experience in consulting services is a plus
Prior experience with accounting system transitions is a plus
Prior experience with payroll system transitions is a plus
Compensation $60,000 – $75,000 per year
Location & Work Arrangement Selected individual will be expected to work on‑site as part of a highly collaborative team in our Grandview (Columbus) office and will be able to travel to client sites within the Midwest. Hybrid work is available for Full Time Employees on our client service delivery teams following 90 days of employment and meeting minimum billing requirements. Hybrid eligible team members must work out of our offices 3 days a week.
