Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Provide customer service as defined by the employer and company policy.
Appropriately handle emergencies, customer complaints, employee or customer accidents, and supervise all store personnel.
Maintain a high familiarity with company policies and procedures.
Supervise the sales floor to monitor service and replenish products.
Replace stock in displays surrounding the checkout area.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Assist other cashiers with computer, register, and scanner problems.
Perform basic office functions to assist customers and personnel.
Operate electronic scanning cash register to total customers’ final bill.
Receive customer payments and provide correct change.
Bag groceries and lift bags into grocery carts; offer assistance with carry‑out when a Courtesy Clerk is unavailable.
Possibly complete close‑of‑day functions in the office.
Possibly count out‑of‑stock product and tills during cashier check‑out periods.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Related Qualifications
Ability to follow company customer service procedures and demonstrate prior customer service experience.
Ability to interact with customers and co‑workers.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Knowledge of all positions within the store.
Ability to work independently.
Desired: Prior experience as a clerk or manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities All store employees during the absence of the Store Director or Assistant Store Director.
Permits / Licenses Varies depending on store location and state/county requirements.
Work Environment Inside: 100%; Outside: Rare. Temperature extremes: N/A. Chemicals: Seldom (mild detergents or glass cleaner).
