Celina City Schools is looking for a special needs aide to provide academic and behavioral support to students. The aide ensures students can access the general curriculum and develop independence. This position will assist individual or small groups of students with academic tasks, self-help skills, mobility, communication, and social interactions; reinforce classroom routines and expectations; maintain confidentiality of student records and information; support a safe and respectful environment conducive to learning; participate in required training and professional development (e.g., CPI, First Aid/CPR, etc.); communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education (with ESEA endorsement if applicable).
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators.
Physical ability to perform assigned duties (may include lifting or physical restraint if needed).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Training in de-escalation, first aid/CPR, or CPI preferred (or willingness to complete).
