Thompson Industrial Services, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an IS Technician to join our safety‑conscious team. The role will be field‑based, responsible for hazardous waste clean‑up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
Work Environment Warehouse, Manufacturing and Construction.
Location & Travel Position located in Cofield, NC. Travel: TBD.
Schedule Days and nights.
Key Requirements Drug screen required.
Experience with hydroblasting, vacuum trucks, general labor, production and industrial field experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities
Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies and acting safely.
Operate manual and automated hydroblasting equipment.
Operate special equipment such as Ultra High‑Pressure pumps.
Operate equipment by energizing pumps and other cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
Examine cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer expectations.
Conduct routine maintenance on units and peripherals, including industrial vacuuming.
Perform routine maintenance on company equipment.
Additional duties as assigned.
Work Conditions
Tools and large machinery used.
Use of computers for training.
Outside work, extreme temperatures, noisy conditions, shift work, flexible schedules, on‑call hours, 24/7 availability.
Heavy lifting, confined spaces, heights.
Regular overnight travel required.
Qualifications
Reliable transportation – valid driver’s license preferred.
Ability to perform physical functions per key responsibilities.
Willingness to be on‑call, work weekends and holidays, emergency response up to 24 hours.
Background check, drug test, and physical clearance required.
Skills and Experience
Vocational preparation including classroom safety training and on‑the‑job experience.
English proficiency sufficient to comprehend safety training.
Valid driver’s license and compliance with company driving policy.
OSHA certification may be required.
Knowledge of emergency equipment operation.
Possible federal TWIC credential.
