Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst
Location: Rensselaer, NY
Pay Rate: $46.54
Job Duration: 30 Months
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will support testing and validation activities for critical financial and child welfare payment systems within a public‑sector environment. This role requires extensive experience in test planning, legacy system testing, Unisys ECL job execution, and regression testing in complex, multi‑system environments. The ideal candidate will be skilled in troubleshooting production issues, validating financial transactions, and ensuring system integrity across linked subsystems.
Required Experience:
7 years of experience creating comprehensive test plans and test data to support multiple testing scenarios. 7 years of experience working in a Unisys demand environment, including use of Unisys Executive Control Language (ECL) to: create and execute test jobs, track job execution, copy, restore, and transfer files, and email files and reports to management and finance teams. 7 years of experience testing legacy payment systems, including validation of financial calculations, policy compliance, child welfare payments, and reimbursement processing. 7 years of experience troubleshooting production system issues by analyzing lower (non‑production) environments to identify impacted application components and recommend corrective actions. 6 years of familiarity with the COBOL programming language sufficient to support testing, debugging, and issue analysis. 6 years of experience performing regression testing to ensure changes do not introduce defects across interconnected or dependent subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test data to support system enhancements and defect fixes. Execute and manage batch and online jobs using Unisys ECL in lower and production‑like environments. Validate financial transactions and payment processing logic to ensure compliance with child welfare policies and reimbursement requirements. Investigate and analyze production issues by recreating defects in test environments and identifying root causes. Perform regression testing across linked systems to verify system stability after changes. Collaborate with developers, system analysts, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve defects. Document test results, defects, and remediation steps, and communicate findings to project stakeholders and management.
