Advanced Management Strategies Group (AMSG) is seeking a

Business Development Manager

to help drive organizational growth and expand our market presence. AMSG is a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), delivering exceptional program and performance management services across multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD), (including Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Location:

AMSG Corporate Office (3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 201) Dumfries, VA & Remote

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management or similar

Experience:

5-10 years of experience supporting business development efforts. Successful business development experience required.

Duties:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and developing plans to expand the company’s market presence. Also, the BD Manager is responsible for working directly with AMSG’s Account Managers to support the growth of AMSG’s existing Accounts (Army, Marine Corps, DHA, WHS, etc.) through close collaboration with the Account Managers and other members of AMSG’s operational staff. This role requires a proactive, results-driven professional who can align business development strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities include:

Develop a deep understanding of the company history, Mission, Vision, Core Values, Strategic Plan, and capabilities by reading company documents, one-on-one and group meetings with AMSG leaders.

Create and execute account strategies, including managing and advancing the opportunity pipeline.

Identify and qualify opportunities, collaborating with Capture and Delivery teams to establish a competitive position.

Lead pipeline reviews and coordinate internally with AMSG and teaming partners to ensure alignment and progress on capture.

Track, qualify, and add prospects to the sales pipeline, monitor, and report proposal status.

Promote AMSG offerings in coordination with AMSG’s Marketing Department and through market research, RFIs, white papers, social media, and other strategic mechanisms.

Shape acquisition strategies by leveraging client relationships, company expertise, partnerships, and knowledge of contracting vehicles.

Facilitate early opportunity gate reviews and prepare comprehensive business cases for executive decision-making.

Represent the company at industry events and contribute to internal and external thought leadership initiatives.

Build and maintain a network of strategic partners; act as liaison between internal teams and teaming partners, including managing subcontractor opportunities as the primary point of contact.

Develop and sustain strong relationships with government customers through consistent, meaningful engagement to gather intelligence and insights.

Gather and analyze customer and competitor data to inform strategy.

Deliver presentations to prospective clients and internal stakeholders.

Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and coordinate with pricing teams on labor categories, rates, price-to-win strategies, and fee structures.

Drive the end-of-the-end business development process and manage annual BD activities and events.

Meet with potential partners to discuss upcoming opportunities; attend networking events, expos, and industry days.

Serve as Capture Manager, leading solution development, win strategies, and capture plans to ensure proposal readiness.

Contribute writing and reviews during proposal efforts and provide technical writing support for marketing and BD materials.

Act as liaison for proposal teams, including requesting past performance questionnaires from customers.

Qualifications:

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies.

Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research and data analysis.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.

Fluent in Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients, if needed.
