This Opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Job Description Understand high‑level design, specifying system and component performance and network requirements. Understand WAN/LAN, telecommunication systems, their components, and associated protocols and standards. Identify the types and functions of computer and telecommunications network elements, document their intercommunications, and map physical and logical target networks by graphing their communications. Interact with customers and team members to troubleshoot and apply engineering principles to overcome challenges in the operating environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs and plans network systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems.

Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Monitors network performance and circuit utilization, identifying and resolving any issues proactively. Provides updates on projects, outages, and resolution efforts.

Troubleshoots circuit‑related problems, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to achieve resolution. Implements and manages circuit failover procedures and disaster recovery plans.

Manages relationships with telecommunications providers and other vendors. Liaises with service providers to ensure timely response to network circuit issues according to technical specifications and business needs.

Conducts regular reviews of service provider performance, ensuring Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance and addressing any issues.

Maintains accurate and detailed records of all circuit information, including configurations, capacities, and costs.

Prepares and presents regular reports on circuit status, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

In‑depth understanding of WAN technologies, IP networking, and telecommunications standards.

Proficiency in using network monitoring and management tools.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Active TS/SCI clearance.

Must have Security+ or equivalent Cybersecurity Workforce certification.

Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
