Job Summary
This role is responsible wp/onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers.
It establishes and maintains positive relationships with all front‑line employees and spends the majority of the day in the field with them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Onboarding: ensuring new front‑line employees have the tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties; meet with them daily to ensure consistent communication and support.
Developing: provide timely and consistent touchpoints; review best practices to enhance daily performance; focus on understanding and progress of employee career goals.
Coaching: identify and address improvement opportunities and collaborate with employees to ensure continued success; actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations.
Mentoring: lead by example to ensure safety practices are paramount with each employee and teach and develop an understanding of the WM Way.
Performance Management: conduct root‑cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining; document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation.
Reviews and audits documentation related to route operations daily (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets), following up where appropriate.
Visits customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives where appropriate.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or in lieu of a degree.
High school diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Successful completion of the WM Route Manager Trainee program.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
Valid driver’s license.
