Responsible for elevating OSU Agriculture’s digital presence through strategic social media communication. The Social Media Coordinator will develop and implement social media strategies, create engaging content, ensure brand consistency across flagship channels, manage a content calendar, collaborate with internal teams and university partners, monitor channels outside regular hours, guide interns, and contribute to campus‑wide initiatives that promote OSU Agriculture at local, state, and national levels.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Agricultural Communications, Strategic Communications, Mass Communications, Marketing or related field (degree must be conferred on or before the agreed upon start date).

Two years of experience in social media marketing or digital content creation.

Proficiency in developing and executing cross‑platform strategies; maintaining content calendars; monitoring channels, including evenings and weekends; ensuring brand consistency and accessibility.

Ability to write and edit social copy, design graphics, produce and edit short‑form video, capture and edit photography; apply AP style and accessibility best practices.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro); photo/video editing; familiarity with social scheduling tools and basic content management system collaboration.

Experience tracking KPIs (reach, engagement, CTR); interpreting data for campaign improvements; conducting A/B testing.

Ability to work with cross‑functional teams; train staff on best practices; manage stakeholder relationships.

Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, self‑directed and creative in managing multiple projects.

Adherence to brand standards, accessibility, copyright, university policies and support for crisis communication protocols.

Creative, innovative, effective communicator with strong problem‑solving and relationship‑building abilities.

Compensation Salary range: $45,000 – $63,000 annually.
