Job Description The Events Activation team, part of the Marketing Activation Center of Excellence (CoE), is a virtual center of marketing professionals with specialized knowledge delivering extraordinary results from strategy to consultation and planning to execution. Job Summary The Events Activation Senior Specialist is responsible for coordinating and planning exceptional BDO‑branded live and online event interactions for our clients, contacts and prospects and driving and monitoring related activities with firm and account teams’ business and go‑to‑market strategies. He/she manages the end‑to‑end planning and execution process for clients working with and leveraging team members and vendors for successful day‑of delivery.
Job Duties
Own the communication and logistics throughout the planning process
Work closely with Events Activation colleagues to create opportunities for cross‑firm collaboration in events
Possess knowledge of contractual language as it pertains to meetings and events
Negotiate with vendors to achieve maximum value for the best product and services
Oversee the event budget and ensure accuracy in developing estimates, working and actual spends
Handle all event audio‑video production from creative concept to final production
Help develop success measures and evaluate all events against objectives, recommending areas for improvement
Coordinate and lead the invitation and registration process
Offer on‑site supervision or transition as necessary
Perform post‑event duties such as expense processing, invoice reconciliation, evaluations, sharing feedback with the Events Activation team, marketing colleagues, and other stakeholders
Champion the BDO brand in all event marketing activities
Other duties as required
Qualifications and Knowledge
Education: High School Diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing (preferred).
Experience: Four (4) or more years of marketing/event planning/administrative experience (required). Experience working in the Accounting, Financial Consulting, Business Advisory and/or Banking Industries (preferred).
License/Certification: None required.
Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (required). CRM experience (preferred).
Language: None required.
Other Skills: Strong planning, managing, and coordinating skills; ability to multi‑task independently or within a team; excellent organizational and project management skills; active listening and interpretation skills; understanding of event context and guest types; experience planning budgets and negotiating with clients; critical thinker and problem solver; travel up to 20% of the time.
Salary Range
National Range: $70,000 - $90,000
Colorado Range: $70,000 - $90,000
Maryland Range: $70,000 - $90,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $70,000 - $90,000
