Transportation & Public Works Civil Project Manager (Omaha, NE)

("E&A") seeks a Full-Time Transportation Project Manager to join our Omaha office. In this leadership role, you’ll guide a talented team of engineers and technicians in designing urban and rural roadway systems that enhance community mobility and safety. From managing project scopes and budgets to mentoring junior staff and collaborating with public agencies, you’ll be central in delivering high-quality, forward-thinking transportation solutions.

Description We seek a Full-Time Project Manager for our Transportation team in our Omaha, NE office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can communicate effectively with team members, public officials, and clients to develop roadway and public improvement plans. This individual will have a proven track record of civil engineering design expertise.
Additional Responsibilities
Manage projects and lead a transportation team
Oversee the production of design plans and specifications for urban and rural public roadways, which may include grading, erosion control, and stormwater management.
Review civil engineering design calculations, drainage reports, and cost estimates
Mentor and encourage the development of junior professionals and technicians
Assist Department Manager with management of projects, team assignments, profitability, and quality control.
Build and maintain client relationships, develop project scopes, and prepare fee proposals to continue growth.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB-accredited engineering program, or program that meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard
Registered Professional Civil Engineer License
Twelve years of progressively responsible engineering experience
Knowledge of the AASHTO “Geometric Design of Highway and Street”
Knowledge of Local Agency jurisdictional requirements for Roadway Design.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office
Team Management Experience to include leading, mentoring, and coaching
Experience with project management
Experience with roadway design, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling, and presentation of results.
Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Fifteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience
Demonstrated knowledge of the Nebraska Department of Transportation or City of Lincoln, NE roadway projects and/or Experience with the City of Omaha, Sarpy, and Douglas County, and/or other local agencies preferred
Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and OpenRoads/GEOPAK software
Knowledge of Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, processes, and procedures.
