WHO WE ARE At Step Up, we believe girls deserve to define and pursue success on their terms. By bringing girls together in inspired spaces – on and offline – we spark exploration and discussion of what’s possible. With structured support and access to a strong community, we guide girls towards their unique goals: first, by identifying those goals and then, building the roadmap to get there.
Step Up participants are high school girls and those who identify with girlhood and young women and those who identify with womanhood (ages 14-29), who are facing systemic barriers.
Step Up is in the process of implementing its five-year strategic plan, focused on strengthening existing programs and expanding its footprint nationally through a blended mentorship model of virtual, in person and independent learning methodologies.
POSITION SUMMARY The Teen Programs Coordinator is a member of Step Up’s Programs Department. This role is responsible for designing, creating, and ensuring quality implementation of programs for teen girls and those who identify with girlhood, ages 14-18, both virtually and in person that are rooted in social and emotional learning and career development. This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth development and out-of-school time site management.
The coordinator will supervise mentoring programs across multiple schools, focusing on relationship management with school partners and school site program facilitators (fellows) to ensure consistent quality and impactful implementation. The coordinator will ensure that all stakeholders—teens, school partners, mentors—are aligned and supported. You will work closely across the organization and with key partners in support of the overall Teen Programs strategy. Frequent local travel is required, with non-local travel for the position at approximately 25%.

Prioritize ensuring that each facilitator and student ambassador has access to all necessary resources for program delivery and understands how to use these resources. Serve as staff lead for Step Up sponsored field trips and all off-campus activities as needed.
Relationship Management:
Develop and manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including teens, parents, schools, community, and corporate partners. Serve as a relationship manager for the school-based mentoring program’s facilitators (fellows) and student ambassadors to ensure understanding of and connection to Step Up’s mission, vision, programming and resources.

Offer ongoing support and resources to ensure mentors are well-prepared and confident in their roles.
Community Engagement:
Serve as a representative of Step Up within the local community. This may require attending events and meetings on behalf of the organization, meeting with school or community leaders, and making connections with potential partner organizations to grow Step Up’s footprint and impact in the city.
