Overview
This role is ideal for a creative and strategic social media professional with a passion for Jewish literature and author branding. You will partner with a children's and YA author of Jewish historical fiction to establish a compelling digital presence from the ground up across Instagram, LinkedIn, Goodreads, and Facebook. The focus is on building a visually cohesive brand inspired by the novel's color palette, fostering community engagement within #JewishKidLit and #Bookstagram, and empowering the author to independently manage these platforms over a 3–6 month period. The position requires a blend of hands-on setup, strategic planning, and personalized coaching to ensure long-term success.
Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive visual style guide tailored to the author’s brand and literary themes
Design multiple reusable Instagram templates for consistent, on-brand content
Set up and optimize professional profiles on Instagram, LinkedIn, Goodreads, and Facebook
Build a detailed content calendar aligned with key literary events and community trends
Provide one-on-one mentorship sessions focused on platform engagement, content creation, and technical skills
Advise on best practices for community building within the Jewish literary and Bookstagram spaces
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in author branding, book marketing, or managing literary social media accounts
Deep familiarity with the #JewishKidLit and #Bookstagram communities
Strong visual design skills and proficiency with tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication and coaching abilities, with a collaborative and supportive approach
Understanding of Jewish cultural and literary contexts
Ability to create strategic content calendars and actionable social media strategies
Availability for part-time, contract-based work over a 3–6 month period
