Cove Behavioral Health is seeking a Collections Specialist with a strong background in medical collections to join our team. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented professional who is committed to recovering outstanding balances while maintaining positive relationships with payers and patients. A "never say no" attitude and problem-solving mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Research, resolve, and appeal denied or underpaid claims efficiently.
Navigate Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance portals to verify claim statuses and submit corrections.
Ensure compliance with state and federal billing regulations while maximizing reimbursement.
Work closely with the billing team to identify trends in denials and implement solutions.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of collection activities and payer communications.
Qualifications & Experience
2+ years of medical collections experience in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of insurance claims processing, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers.
Proficiency in Trizetto and Methosoft (or similar medical billing software).
Ability to problem-solve, negotiate, and think critically in challenging collection scenarios.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with insurance representatives and internal teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts.
