Job Summary Miller Electric: The Journey-level Electrician is an electrical craftsman who performs a wide range of skills, including installation of complex electrical systems, troubleshooting, repair, demolition, maintenance, layout, cleanup, remodel, and related activities in a safe manner. These tasks are carried out in various settings—construction sites, existing facilities, roadways, industrial, healthcare, service, commercial, and governmental environments. State licensure is helpful but not required. Candidates must be able to document four years of experience in electrical construction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Repair, maintain, install, and modernize electrical systems for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Perform skilled work requiring a high degree of manual and technical competency.
Locate and diagnose electrical malfunctions using test equipment.
Repair malfunctions by replacing burned‑out elements, fuses, defective wiring, and cleaning and repairing motors.
Test electrical equipment—motors, heaters, controls—for safety and efficiency.
Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.
Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
Possess knowledge of security and fire alarm systems.
Perform other duties as required.
Perform manual labor as needed, including:
Manual excavation
Bending pipe
Pulling wire
Lifting 50 pounds
Working with hands overhead
Using heavy equipment
Using power tools
Qualifications
Minimum 1,200 field hours documented and verifiable on a commercial job site.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Thorough knowledge of the electrical trade.
Initiative and ingenuity to analyze situations and make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codes.
Capacity to sustain considerable physical effort at frequent intervals.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment‑based visa sponsorship (including H‑1B) is not available for this position.
