We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Engineer / Lead Maintenance Electrician
to support Commercial HVAC Engineering test lab operations in
East Syracuse, NY . This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who can work independently, lead maintenance activities, and support complex engineering projects with minimal supervision.
The selected candidate will provide
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
and
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)
support while ensuring reliable operation of lab equipment and minimizing test downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical equipment and wiring to support LCML test lab operations
Perform moderate to complex electrical troubleshooting and problem‑solving
Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with lab technicians, engineers, and management
Modify and install equipment to support unique test applications and capital upgrades
Support psychrometric testing and HVAC commercial engineering initiatives
Lead and mentor lower‑level maintenance staff on electrical issues
Ensure compliance with EH&S procedures and regulations
Read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Qualifications & Experience
AA/AS Degree, Technical/Trade School Certificate, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
10+ years
of HVAC or electrical maintenance experience
OSHA 10‑Hour Construction EH&S Certification
(required)
Strong knowledge of:
Electrical power distribution systems
Low‑voltage controls
Electrical schematics and troubleshooting
Ability to work independently and lead electrical maintenance efforts
Experience using power tools and industrial equipment safely
Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
Familiarity with:
Power industrial trucks
Scissor & aerial lifts
Crane and rigging operations
