Medical Interpreter Per Diem (Mien)
This position provides oral interpreting services for non-English speaking and limited English-speaking patients at the University of the California, Davis Health.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be fluent in English and
target language Mien .
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
Meet minimum California auto insurance requirements.
Passing score on internal Interpreter Competency Test or an active National Medical Interpreter certification status.
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
Knowledge of medical terminology in source and target languages.
Familiarity with the Medical Center setting.
Key Responsibilities
90% - Oral Interpreting
10% - Record keeping and other duties
Department Overview Medical Interpreting Services provides a range of language access services, including onsite, telephone, video interpreting, and written translations to ensure access to healthcare services for NES/LES and deaf/hard-of-hearing patients.
