Position Summary The Asset Protection Security Specialist investigates incidents, collaborates with management, and maintains safety standards to protect customers, associates, and store assets within a high-volume retail environment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Retail security experience.

Law enforcement experience.

Ability to continue education.

High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience.

Minimum 18 years of age (21 in Alaska).

Ability to pass a drug test.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and detail.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.

Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.

Proficient Microsoft Office skills.

Model customer first behavior; encourage and deliver excellent customer service.

Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.

Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent external and internal theft.

Monitor large shrink areas in stores.

Report incidents to the asset protection manager.

Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.

Provide credible court testimony.

Identify areas of high theft.

Verify compliance with corporate policies.

Promote and follow company initiatives.

Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basis.

Location & Salary Portland, OR – $97,300.00–$125,544.00
