Job Summary The College of Health Science and Public Health opens a full‑time, 9‑month lecturer position in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CMSD). The lecturer will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, provide clinical supervision, and contribute to the department’s academic and clinical mission.
Teaching Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in communication sciences & disorders.
Provide clinical education and supervision in relevant practice areas.
Mentor student research endeavors.
Assist in creating and maintaining clinic–patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
Develop and manage clinical supervision assignments to meet accreditation standards.
Collaborate with the department to build and market specialty clinics.
Participate in service to the department, college, and university as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or Doctorate (AuD) in communication sciences & disorders, speech‑language pathology, audiology or a related field.
Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP or CCC‑A) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
Washington State clinical license (SLP or audiology) or eligibility for licensure.
Clinical experience and teaching potential in at least one of the following: voice, phonology/speech sound disorders, dysphagia, audiology, child language.
Ability to engage in respectful, collegial relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
Demonstrated responsive and flexible approach supporting diverse student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Five or more years of varied clinical practice with children and/or adults.
One or more years of teaching or supervision experience in a CSD program.
Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
Current professional knowledge of the field and program.
