Base pay range $19.00/hr – $22.00/hr
Hotel Equities, a multi‑award‑winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is searching for a remarkable Banquet Captain/Supervisor for the Kansas City Airport Marriott in Kansas City, MO.
Job Purpose:
Responsible for training, assisting, and supervising banquet house personnel in setting up, cleaning, servicing, and maintaining banquet equipment, function rooms, and related service areas, ensuring guest satisfaction, the achievement of company standards, safety policies, and profit maximization.
Review the BEO and day‑work assignments.
Assign and direct set‑up duties for functions.
Assist house personnel in physical set‑up, cleaning, and arrangement of tables and equipment per BEO specifications while adhering to safety standards.
Monitor and ensure all SOPs, policies, procedures, and regulations are followed.
Inspect all function rooms for completeness.
Direct or assist in refreshing rooms during breaks.
Receive and issue packages for guests for related functions.
Properly maintain, store, and secure all banquet equipment.
Drive vehicles for pick‑up and return of rented/borrowed items and for outside functions.
Assist banquet servers as needed.
Complete work orders for any damaged equipment.
Serve on one of the hotel’s committees.
Greet and serve guests following the service guidelines.
Complete assigned paperwork per event or function.
Complete all side work during and after events.
Organize and stock products or prepare for next day’s events during server downtime.
Ensure all equipment is returned, wiped, and stored properly.
Dispose of or properly store all buffet and plated food per chef instructions.
Return all unused equipment to designated storage areas.
Maintain banquet areas neat, clean, and ready for the next day.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
Thorough knowledge of the catering and food profession.
Knowledge of policies and procedures to determine appropriate actions.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Moderate hearing, vision, and speech for effective team coordination.
Moderate comprehension and literacy to read BEO requests.
Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy banquet items 75% of the time.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stoop as needed within the kitchen area.
Full mobility and ability to walk up to 50 feet regularly.
Standing sustained up to one hour at a time during preparation or plate‑ups.
Other:

Reading, writing, and basic math skills for paperwork and cash handling.
Problem‑solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities.
