Brown University Health invites applications for the MH Mgr Environmental Services Operations role.
SUMMARY: As an Environmental Services Operations manager, you are responsible for assisting in directing and overseeing the support services operational needs of the department. You will coordinate the tasks of the frontline associates and will serve as liaison between administration and other hospital departments, providing the highest level of service. Responsibilities
Establish and annually review standards and work procedures for all staff.
Plan work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.
Assist in the hiring process; interview, hire and train new associates.
Orient, develop, and supervise all supervisory / housekeeping staff.
Conduct regular inspections and make recommendations to the Director.
Conduct monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans.
Provide staff education and continuous training.
Communicate with staff, administration, and other departments.
Coordinate outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical and Solid Waste, Document Destruction).
Have supervisory responsibility for up to 45 FTEs.
Direct activities of both English‑speaking and non‑English‑speaking service personnel.
Interact with a variety of personnel levels throughout the Hospital.
Prepare schedules and reports with numerical and clerical ability.
Have knowledge of effective housekeeping techniques and procedures.
Consistently communicate effectively and express ideas clearly.
Actively listen and follow appropriate channels of communication.
Communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all hospital departments, physicians, ancillary services, and the public to promote customer satisfaction.
Encourage discussion of problems and concerns, expression of ideas to the department director and staff.
Maintain concise, complete and accurate records and documentation in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards.
Respect and maintain patient/employee confidentiality.
Complete work assignments within acceptable time frames.
Use time and resources to the best advantage for successful completion of duties.
Develop and maintain efficient working relationships.
Be reliable in attendance and punctuality.
Recognize the importance of teamwork and partner with others to achieve positive outcomes.
Ensure quality services and offer creative solutions or alternatives to issues.
Produce quality results and continually strive to improve the quality of work.
Take responsibility for all work performed and take corrective action as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
