We are seeking a Research Technologist who will perform laboratory tasks and completes routine assays following common or established protocols and procedures.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Approximately we keep the exact text lines: Perform research laboratory experiments by following common protocols independently or with instructions.

Use basic science knowledge to learn techniques, methods and assays used in the lab, with an emphasis on those directly relevant to assigned projects.

Design, set-up and execute experiments, including appropriate controls.

Collect measurements, analyze data and store data following established laboratory durchaus procedures.

Maintain a laboratory notebook following established laboratory policies.

Identify and resolve common problems involved in routine assays.

Apply problem-solving skills through progressive training, understanding of the research, and experience.

Increase skill and knowledge base of assays, research conducted in the lab and relevant background material.

Train users in standard equipment operation and routine lab techniques and procedures.

Test, clean, and maintain standard laboratory equipment.

Perform related laboratory maintenance, monitor inventory of supplies, autoclaving, preparing solutions and other routine duties, as assigned.

The core technical skills listed are most essential; additional technical skills may be required based on specific division or department needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field

Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Some related undergraduate or post-undergraduate laboratory work experience in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and/or microscopy.

Experience in computational biology and code-based analysis platforms.

Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/02/CC

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($36,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm
