Production Supervisor
Job Purpose:
Fabricate custom parts for production to be used within the designs of custom engineered finished products.
Job Definition:
Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines. Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Calculate dimensions and tolerances with knowledge of match
Machine parts to specifications of drawings
Measure using precision instruments
Set up and operate machine tools
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work
Layout, measure, and mark stock for measurements of cuts
Requirements
Read blueprints
Work to close tolerances
Duplicate parts in volume
Education:
Some vocational education training as a machinist would be preferred but experience is also acceptable if a candidate does not have a certificate.
Experience:
2+ years of machining experience unless the candidate has a certificate in machining from a trade school.
