We are looking for a motivated maintenance technician to serve our production team in the manufacturing plant.
Position Summary The typical day for our maintenance technician requires repairing machinery for bottling lines and packing lines. Our maintenance technicians are extremely important to our processes at the manufacturing facility in Reading, PA. The maintenance technician is tasked with communicating with machine operators and the supervisors to ensure the proper repairs are made to bottling, labeling, and packing machinery and are executed efficiently. You would be responsible for responding to emergency maintenance pages as well as continuously working on work orders submitted by the production and distribution staff in order to maintain the equipment. Each technician is assigned monthly preventative maintenance schedules to maintain heavy and high-tech machinery throughout the plant and cold room warehouse.
Compensation Hourly Rate: $29.80 - $33.17
Responsibilities
Respond to written work orders and emergency maintenance pages.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, and testing equipment.
Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at facility.
Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with machinery or equipment operation and partner with maintenance staff and supervisors to resolve issues.
Be responsible for executing all required SQF/HACCP/Quality policies and properly fill out the accompanying documentation.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to increase platform performance.
Assists in training new employees as needed.
Desired Skills
Prior knowledge and experience with electrical systems, plumbing systems, welding, and/or machinery repair. (Mandatory)
Knowledge and experience in a dairy manufacturing environment (Preferred)
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Maintain a good track record of punctuality and reliability.
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (breakdowns)
Strong Work Ethic
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs. as required by the position.
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
