Responsibilities
Conduct inspections and surveys of health care facilities using an established survey process.
Evaluate facilities for state licensure and federal certification requirements for participation under Medicare/Medicaid.
Document findings and complete written reports of survey findings.
Perform surveys as an individual, team member, or team leader.
Work during weekends, holidays, and in emergency situations, including natural disasters and other threats.
Work extensive travel, including significant overnight travel.
Maintain proficiency with computer equipment and software programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and smart phone technology).
Achieve successful completion of the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment.
Comply with criminal background investigation and work attendance requirements.
Qualifications
Three (3) years professional or nonprofessional health care licensure, regulation, and/or certification experience.
Knowledge of state licensure and federal certification survey requirements.
Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize data and work assignments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Competency with microcomputer equipment and software for data manipulation.
Capability to travel with or without accommodation.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
