Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitors primarily our Fabrication production areas, evaluating products and administering corrective procedures as deemed appropriate (i.e., provides indirect job specification training).

Coordinates attendance issues by ensuring personnel fill vacant or absent positions and minimizing turnover rates.

Conducts pre‑operational inspection of the area, sets up production equipment, and submits maintenance work orders as needed.

Maintains food and work safety regulations.

Greets and speaks with personnel to provide a cohesive working environment.

Audits product and employee safety throughout the shift.

Controls waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and providing a sanitary working environment.

Processes post‑operational attendance information from the Paycor system.

Conducts line meetings monthly or as circumstances dictate to address department issues or concerns.

Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for direct reports; also performs tasks typically performed by employees on the team.

Maintains acceptable yield levels on all products on all carcasses.

All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum 2-5 years of production experience preferred.

Knowledge of meat processing and subsequent job specifications.

Communication Skills

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, business partners, U.S.D.A., supervisors, and employees.

Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, and French preferred but not required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in a mathematical, diagrammatic, written, and/or verbal form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to mine, analyze, prepare, and present food safety data.

Able to demonstrate proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel/hold objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, speak, hear, taste, and smell.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to speak on the phone and make field visits to industrial areas when necessary.

Work Environment

The work environment is a combination of corporate and manufacturing.

Employee is occasionally exposed to hot and/or humid conditions and to moving mechanical parts.

Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
