Job Summary The Operations Manager (OM) is accountable for all operational aspects of the store to execute the company’s business objectives, ensure customer satisfaction, and maximize sales. The OM leads and manages the store operations team to maintain a neat, clean, and safe store that provides an inviting environment for customers and team members.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The OM builds, coaches, and maintains a store team to meet At Home’s Vision, Mission, Values, and business objectives while following all company processes and policies.

The OM recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new team members to ensure a positive customer experience.

The OM coaches, drives performance, sets goals, and takes follow‑up action with team members, including performance support plans and corrective actions.

The OM makes employment decisions for the operations team, including hiring, compensation, promotions, releases, disciplinary actions, and addressing concerns.

The OM coordinates directly with the Store Director to maximize staffing effectiveness, comply with time‑keeping policies, process payroll, and meet labor, customer interaction, and business metric standards.

The OM reviews, analyzes, and communicates store financial and business data, develops budgets, and executes strategies to maximize sales and profits.

The OM oversees task management by planning, directing, and scheduling team members for shifts and tasks, validating completion and adjusting schedules as needed.

The OM manages all store opening, closing, and front‑end processes, ensuring operational readiness, showing troubleshooting, and securing building assets.

The OM leads freight and stocking processes, ensuring safe unloading, merchandising, and maintenance of neat, clean stockrooms.

The OM manages the store to provide a positive shopping experience, minimize damages and shrink, and address customer concerns promptly.

The OM leads in customer satisfaction, team development, inventory, cash control, HR, safety, loss prevention, and expense control, and leads regular meetings/huddles on these subjects.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

At least 18 years old.

High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Background check will be completed.

At least 3 years of management/leadership experience or equivalent At Home experience.

At least 3 years of direct responsibility for leading 10 or more people across multiple departments.

At least 1 year experience with an annual revenue, operating budget, or P&L of at least $5 million.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or lift 100 lbs. with a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
