Job Description
Grocery/Dept Leader – Kroger Mountain View Foods. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain safe and clean environment encouraging customer return. Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support day‑to‑day grocery operations. Responsibilities
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
Plan, organize and supervise inventory process.
Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies.
Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
Monitor and control expenses for the department.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
Understand the store’s layout and be able to locate products.
Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in performance appraisal process.
Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
Ability to work cooperatively in high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications MINIMUM
High School Diploma or GED.
Any management experience.
DESIRED
1 year of grocery retail experience.
