Summary / Objectives
A logistics specialist is responsible for the oversight of the life cycle of products, including preparation, shipping, and receiving. Aids with maintaining logistics planning tasks. Prepares incoming and outgoing mail for proper distribution, including weighing packages or letters and computing appropriate charges using provided postage equipment. Duties include opening, sorting, and routing all incoming mail to the intended recipient while maintaining necessary records. Maintains operation center supplies. Prepare reports for inventory and distribution. Additional responsibilities are outlined below.
Essential Functions
Ensuring supplies, packages and mail are sorted then distributed to departments/recipients in a timely manner.
Maintains appropriate contact with US Postal Service representatives on updates and changes made to postal rules & regulations.
Complies with the South State Bank Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
Prepare correspondence to be mailed (e.g. applying appropriate postage) of business mail.
Track mailroom and operation center supplies to ensure maximum/minimum needs.
Maintain high level of confidentiality in handling mail/packages.
Escorts assigned vendors through the support center.
Removal/Provisioning of credentials for employees – Supply Vendor, Packaging Vendor, etc. in accordance with compliance/department guidelines.
Process Source requests in a timely manner.
Support departments with various mailing projects daily.
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all vendors and employees.
Participate in special projects.
Accepts all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Experience / Knowledge Requirements
Must be knowledgeable in regard to reporting skills, managing processes, analyzing information, professionalism, problem solving.
Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
Excellent computer skills including proficient typing, attention to detail.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Microsoft Office Suite: Excel knowledge preferred.
Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated as well as ability to work with various teams.
Physical Demands Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to bend and lift or turn. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens and documents. Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment This position is located in a cubicle environment that may be loud throughout the day.
