Eligible Candidates Only LATERAL candidates with related experience are accepted. Eligible candidates must be a 911 Dispatcher, Communications Technician, or other directly related position with at least one year of work experience outside of training and not be in a probationary period. Out‑of‑state experience is accepted.

About the Northwest Regional Emergency Communications Center (NRECC) The NRECC is the primary public safety dispatch center for Dublin, Hilliard, Upper Arlington (police and fire), Worthington (police and fire), Washington Township, and Norwich Township. Located inside the Dublin Justice Center, NRECC was formed in October 2013 and expanded to include additional municipalities over time.

The nature of this work requires candidates to work irregular hours, including nights, қарши, and holidays. Shift assignment is seniority based.

Shift Times

First Shift: 6:45 ouis to 2:45 p.m.

Second Shift: 2:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

Third Shift: 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.

Primary Focus This position communicates with safety, other City personnel, and partnering agencies that fall under the NRECC. It involves receiving, prioritizing, transmitting, and recording data, communications, resources, and solicitudes.

Designated as Non‑Exempt under FLSA, the position is entitled to overtime compensation.

Key Job Responsibilities Operate a multi‑channel radio system to dispatch requests for assistance and resources for law enforcement, fire and medical emergencies, and other cases. Coordinate backup support when needed.

Operate a multi‑line phone system to process incoming 9-1-1, text‑to‑9-1-1, TDD, and non‑emergency calls. Record and dispatch the appropriate resources.

Use a sophisticated workstation with mapping, video feeds, CAD, EMD guide cards, and other resources to collect, verify locations, evaluate, prioritize, track units, and collate incident information.

Utilize accepted techniques and protocols to gather necessary information to identify emergency type and priority.

Maintain communication with callers and responders during life‑threatening emergencies or volatile situations to provide guidance and life‑saving pre‑arrival instructions.

Perform queries and entries into state and national systems (LEADS, NCIC) to locate persons and property and ensure officer safety.

Use the Dublin Emergency Warning and Calling Systems to notify the public of emergencies.

Coordinate with other dispatch organizations to determineehir resources for assistance requests.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED. Some experience as a Communications Technician with CAD preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum age 18 at application. US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements Clear and effective communication under stress; long periods of radio listening; ability to speak verbally clearly, concisely, and accurately; ability to respond calmly to emergency calls.

Special Requirements Ability to acquire and maintain LEADS and NCIC certification.
