What You’ll Do
Ensure the safety and well‑being of all campers in the group and camp‑wide, maintaining a risk‑free environment.
Assist with the planning and implementation of activities in accordance with the camp schedule, submitting written plans prior to each week or as assigned by the Camp Director.
Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff.
Organize and maintain camp equipment, supplies, and property.
Actively participate in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned.
Maintain camp records, including accident & incident reports, sign‑in/out sheets, attendance documents, etc.
Maintain expectations of YMCA requirements and help others do the same.
Work collaboratively with the Head Counselor for the assigned group.
Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age and/or have prior experience working with children in a camp environment.
Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
Attend all required pre‑camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled.
Obtain and maintain all new‑hire certifications and trainings before the first day of camp.
