SME – Lethality
to provide required support to the Capability Development and Innovation (CD&I) division within the Secretariat for Special Operations under the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Special Operations and Low‑Intensity Conflict (OASW(SO/LIC)). The role is based in Washington, DC.

Requirements
10+ years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. citizen
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an unspecified field of study
Personnel Clearance Level
Candidate must possess or be able to obtain an active TS/SCI security clearance or higher
Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive)
Support the development of advanced equipment, capabilities, methods, and techniques that increase the lethality and kinetic effectiveness of small tactical units engaged in direct action operations.
Support and analyze the specialized weapons, munitions, detonators, distraction and diversion devices, and other unique tactical offensive equipment.
Support the development of advanced technologies to enhance tactical assault forces’ rapid insertion, access, and egress to and from objectives, improving organic target analysis and evaluating tactical options that support efficiency and stealth, reducing time on target, including remote operations.
Support the development of offensive capabilities focused on remote reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition (RSTA), and direct‑action operations within irregular and denied environments.
Develop advanced kinetic effect solutions tailored to create asymmetric impacts, ensuring strategic advantages in complex operational settings.
Salary Range : $150,000 – $185,000 per year.
