As an

In‑Port Trainer , you will be responsible for training, coaching, assessing, and evaluating our Customer Experience teams, ensuring Qantas service, safety, and operational standards are consistently delivered. This role involves delivering structured instructional training to frontline colleagues within Airports Customer Experience, as well as facilitating practical, on-the-job task delivery. The core curriculum includes new starter inductions, customer service and soft‑skills training, technical and systems training, and process and procedural learning relevant to customer service operations across Australian Airports.

Reporting to the Planning Manager of Airports, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and manuals, ensuring content remains accurate, compliant, and reflective of current operational requirements. You will also assist in identifying training needs and recommending learning solutions and course structures in collaboration with Group Learning & Development (L&D).

This role requires you to develop an in-depth understanding of the operational portfolio you support, enabling you to confidently facilitate training and work closely with the broader Training Community, including L&D. You will apply contemporary adult learning methodologies, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and actively promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

To be successful, you’ll have:

Demonstrated operational experience or strong working knowledge within Airport Operations, ideally within Customer Experience

Proven experience delivering face‑to‑face training, coaching, or capability uplift in an operational environment

The flexibility and availability to work a rotating shift roster, in line with airport operations

Experience coordinating and delivering training programs within a highly regulated service environment

Strong working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Experience with airline or customer management systems, preferably Amadeus

Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or a related discipline (advantageous but not essential)

Confident and professional written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine enthusiasm for training and developing others

Excellent organisational capability with the ability to manage competing priorities

A decisive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to analyse and resolve issues while considering planning data and procedural requirements
