Base Pay Range
$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr
Position Overview The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with assigned customers, with a focus on increasing sales, profitability, and market presence within an assigned territory. This role represents a full portfolio of products and services and plays a key role in account planning, business development, and customer satisfaction.
The Account Manager will maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively developing new business opportunities within the designer, architect, and builder communities.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain productive, professional relationships with key decision-makers within assigned accounts
Achieve sales, profitability, and strategic growth targets
Lead account planning efforts, establishing short- and long-term objectives and milestones
Continuously assess customer needs to ensure product and service alignment
Business Development
Develop and execute sales action plans for accounts with high growth potential
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within design, architecture, and builder segments
Generate leads through existing accounts and industry networking
Participate in local industry organizations and professional groups
Support the expansion of showroom displays and product visibility within accounts
Lead solution-based selling efforts by collaborating with internal teams
Conduct product knowledge sessions at customer locations
Encourage customer engagement through showroom and branch visits
Partner with customer service teams to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues
Conduct regular account visits and submit activity reports as required
Territory & Activity Planning
Strategically plan weekly sales activity within the assigned region
Execute targeted outreach to designers, architects, and builders
Leverage leads from fabricators and other referral sources
Participate in events and activities that support relationship-building and new business generation
Accountabilities & Performance Measures
Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales and profitability goals
Maintain accurate and effective account plans
Ensure customer objectives are met, escalating as needed
Achieve quarterly display and activity targets
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
10+ years of proven sales and/or marketing experience preferred
Experience within building materials, construction, or related industries strongly preferred
Strong ability to assess competitive landscapes and develop strategies to gain market share
Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven with a proactive sales mindset
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% regionally
