Position Overview The Catering Sales Manager will drive catering and event sales by building relationships with clients, planning and coordinating events, and ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. This proactive, detail‑oriented role requires meeting and exceeding sales targets while delivering top‑tier client service.

Job Duties
Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue in all special event areas.
Drive sales across corporate, social, nonprofit, and wedding markets.
Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume sales environment.
Build and maintain long‑term client relationships for repeat business and loyalty.
Participate in industry associations, hospitality organizations, and networking groups.
Employ persuasive presentation, strong closing strategies, and effective negotiation tactics.
Conduct professional site tours and client presentations to showcase venue capabilities.
Engage in community and civic activities to raise awareness and create booking opportunities.
Partner with banquet and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest experiences.
Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event details clearly to operations.
Assess event needs in real time, make quick decisions, and implement solutions when challenges arise.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics for a competitive edge.
Provide complete banquet event orders to set the operations team up for success.
Education / Experience
4+ years in catering or event sales.
Experience at a similar‑size property and sales volume.
Advanced knowledge of venue features, benefits, and competing venues.
Strong priorities, planning, organization, and delegation skills.
Excellent written communication—concise, organized, complete, and clear.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
Adaptive communication style to suit various audiences.
Positive attitude, teamwork, and enjoyment in a fast‑paced work environment.
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient with catering management software (Delphi, Certify, Salesforce, etc.).
Advanced sales, revenue management, training, and peer motivation knowledge.
Flexible schedule to accommodate departmental requirements.
Detail‑oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
Strong background in hospitality and event planning.
Proficient PC skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM platforms.
