Outside Sales Representative
Territory: New Jersey
Compensation: $85,000–$100,000+ annually (depending on experience), plus commission

Our client is recognized for engineering excellence, top‑tier American manufacturing, and its ability to deliver custom‑designed systems that help industrial and warehouse customers enhance efficiency, safety, and space utilization.
They are seeking a driven and technically minded Outside Sales Representative to support growth in the state of New Jersey. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys developing relationships, identifying customer needs, and delivering innovative, engineered solutions.
Position Objectives:
Develop a thorough understanding of assigned product lines, including engineered storage and racking systems.
Act as a knowledgeable and reliable point of contact for customers, providing expert technical and sales support.
Build and expand the customer base through strategic prospecting and solution‑oriented selling.
Achieve established sales and margin targets aligned with company objectives.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
Deliver product and sales training to distribution partners as requested.
Collaborate closely with regional sales management and product specialists to strengthen market presence across New York.
Key Responsibilities
Present products and services effectively, clearly articulating value and overcoming objections to close sales.
Assess customer challenges and develop tailored solutions that align with their operational goals.
Provide timely responses to customer inquiries, including pricing, technical details, and marketing support.
Offer creative strategies to distribution partners to promote assigned product lines.
Manage new and existing opportunities through CRM tools, maintaining accurate pipeline data and sales reporting.
Provide monthly updates on sales performance relative to targets.
Maintain required margin levels and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Build strong relationships with key decision‑makers at both distribution and end‑user accounts.
Serve as the main liaison for customers, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and long‑term account growth.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent commercial training.
Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience within industrial, construction, or material handling markets.
Technical & Professional Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to manage the full sales cycle.
Basic technical understanding of engineered or industrial products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly.
