Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in accessing and managing ports is essential. The role includes the administration of chemotherapy and the management of side effects. Familiarity with monitoring chemotherapy and addressing issues such as nausea and vomiting is important. RNs will provide patient and family education and support throughout treatment. The position requires strong phlebotomy skills and the management of central lines. Acute care management and recognizing abnormal lab values are part of the responsibilities. Teamwork with interdisciplinary support, including social services and pharmacy, is essential. The patient population consists of adults with various cancer diagnoses, including hematology-related conditions. Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable in patient safety and follow protocols for chemotherapy administration. Maintaining a safe treatment environment and handling cytotoxic spills appropriately are required. RNs will engage in patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual needs.
