Overview

The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on metal components, with a focus on engine block fabrication and repair. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to follow engineering specifications and safety standards. The welder will identify and repair sparsity in engine blocks to ensure structural integrity and performance. Shift

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am Key Accountabilities

Welding Operations: Fabricate and weld products to meet production expectations. Perform advanced welding techniques including GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), and qualify in 2F/2G (Horizontal), 3F/3G (Vertical/Uphill), and 4F/4G (Overhead) positions. Weld using standard work sequences and identify variances using andon systems. Use oxygen/propane flame for straightening and cutting. Operate other industrial equipment such as rigging and cranes for weldment movement. Technical Expertise and Quality Control: Read, interpret, and execute engineering drawings of weldments. Understand and apply AWS (American Welding Society) weld symbols. Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with specifications. Ensure welds meet specifications through visual and non-destructive testing (NDT). Collaboration & Flexibility: Work closely with others to meet project timelines. Be available to assist in other areas as needed. Safety & Compliance: Follow all applicable company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards. This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery. Qualifications Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Welding Certification from an accredited College or Institution Demonstrated understanding of welding techniques, materials, and fabrication processes, including experience with GMAW, FCAW, and various welding positions. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, interpret technical drawings, and ensure weld quality. Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to assess issues, troubleshoot welding and fabrication challenges, and implement effective solutions. Basic understanding of safety requirements in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and communicate effectively both oral and written Basic computer knowledge - Basic knowledge of hand tools and their proper application Basic knowledge of measuring devices Intermediate knowledge of blueprint/engineering drawings Basic math functions - add, subtract, multiply, and divide; ability to use metric measurements Preferred Requirements
