Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team is seeking a Data Center Logistics Specialist to support the efficient operation of our data centers. This role is critical to ensuring smooth inventory management, rack movements, and warehouse operations that enable Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to deliver reliable services worldwide.
Responsibilities
Rack Movements & Deployment
Coordinate and execute physical rack installations, relocations, and decommissions within the data center.
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards during all rack handling activities.
Inventory Control
Maintain accurate inventory records for servers, networking equipment, and related hardware.
Perform regular audits and cycle counts to ensure data integrity in inventory management systems.
Track inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation.
Warehouse & Material Handling
Manage receiving, storage, and distribution of equipment and consumables within the data center warehouse.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently.
Organize and optimize warehouse layout for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
Process & Compliance
Adhere to Microsoft’s security, safety, and compliance standards in all logistics operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Qualifications Required:
Experience in logistics, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) safely.
Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and basic data entry.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience in data center or IT hardware environments.
Certification in material handling or forklift operation.
Knowledge of Microsoft tools and systems for inventory and asset management.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Goodyear, AZ.
Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $25.00/hr.
