What We Need We are looking for a Tufting Machine Operator in the Dalton, GA area to operate a level loop, patterned loop, cut pile, or enhanced graphics tufting machine.
What You’ll Do
Operate tufting machine (e.g., threading and/or replacing needles, replacing cutting blades, aligning cutting blade block, hook replacement).
Conduct machine set up checks (production checklist, deck board and backing verification).
Compare tufted carpet to Greige standard and side/center/side match.
Perform quality inspection during production runs and mend voids in carpets as required.
Change backing as required.
Doff carpet rolls as required.
Follow company guidelines and operating procedures, and identify unsafe working, building and environmental conditions.
Report any issues to supervisor or appropriate department head or crew leader for resolution.
Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices, including wearing appropriate safety garments, using appropriate tools and equipment, and exercising required safety behaviors.
Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
Follow all established standard operating procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
What You Have
High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
Prior experience operating tufting machine equipment required, and/or an equivalent combination of on‑the‑job training and work experience.
Read and write in standard English and perform basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
May be required to use PC and other department‑specific database systems.
What You’re Good At
Communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and reports.
Work well with people.
Maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines.
Perform specific duties with instructions but without direct supervision.
What Else
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to walk long distances, climb on ladders, and stand for long periods of time frequently.
Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
Must also be able to work in non‑climate‑controlled facilities.
Work environment is a noisy, high‑traffic production floor.
Must be able to pass a color‑blind or color‑hue test for preventing quality defects on running product.
May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Willing to work in all types of weather.
