Job Summary The Housing Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) that works within a multidisciplinary team to help individuals achieve housing stability. This position works in partnership with individuals to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes. Housing Specialists deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance. Housing Specialists may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training and/or utilize other evidenced-based interventions or therapeutic modalities as well as provide service coordination to obtain services related to employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need. Frequent service coordination with external and internal providers is necessary to support individuals in achieving independent functioning.

Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services can be both office- and community-based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.

Although staff members in this position are not typically LPHA's, staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a LPHA who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses and treatment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education

Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Masters degree preferred.

License

Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Experience

Obtaining housing and benefits for clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Hours & Pay

Part Time.

Workdays: Monday - Friday (Flexible).

Work hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible).

Salary: $24.18 - $25.39 an hour based on education.
