Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm with a 1‑hour lunch break; some Saturdays 8 am–12 pm.

Position Summary This role coordinates a smooth patient flow process: answering phones, scheduling appointments, registering patients and insurance information, obtaining required signatures, verifying insurance coverage, validating referrals and authorizations, collecting patient liability, and providing financial guidance. The position also accurately posts patients at the point of service and releases information in accordance with organizational policies.

Core Functions

Perform registration/check‑in processes, including data entry, providing patients with intake forms, obtaining signatures, and generating population health summaries.

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for services rendered; assist with pre‑certification, referrals, and authorizations.

Calculate and collect patient liability, explain financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements.

Enter payments/charges, perform daily reconciliation, balance the cash drawer, and prepare daily bank deposits.

Schedule office visits and procedures to maximize reimbursement and confirm appointments.

Maintain proactive interpersonal communication with patients, staff, and third‑party payors; optimize patient flow with effective customer service skills.

Assist with patient medical record requests in compliance with company policies and laws.

Provide patient services (escort, vitals, patient history, etc.) and assist in patient treatment as needed.

Work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment, retaining large amounts of payor information to ensure reimbursement.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

Knowledge of patient financial services, collection processes, or insurance industry experience (minimum one year).

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for diverse audiences.

Proficiency with common office software: word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.

For behavioral health clinical settings covering children: an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit required.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience with Banner’s systems and processes.

Previous cash collection experience.
