Domestic Violence Residential Case Manager POSITION REPORTS TO

Domestic Violence Program Director FUNCTION

Uses a trauma-informed care approach to provide direct services to domestic violence program participants, as well as carry out program needs and objectives. HOURS PER WEEK

37.5 SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday, Flexible to accommodate resident needs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include on-site presence at the Safe House Monday – Friday for a minimum of 30 minutes. Required to be on-call some evening and weekend hours to cover our 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline. Conducts house meetings with residential clients, assists with education and employment goals, and coordinates client needs for suitable housing, locating education/employment, childcare, parenting skills, assertiveness and other skills/needs. Assists with shelter cleaning and upkeep and enforces shelter house rules. Maintains confidential case-notes and records and assists with reports and statistical documentation. The Safe House Case Manager will be responsible for all Safe House operations including but not limited to:

Screens for Safe House admissions Provide advocacy with all appropriate local resources. Develops and implements goal and safety plans to assist the client toward independence and a violent free future. Assess maintenance needs as they occur and report to maintenance. Meet with Safe House clients on daily basis for continuity, assessment, and support. Transport clients to appointments as needed. Assist with grocery list and shopping to promote healthy diet options. Provide financial stability counseling. Assist each client with attaining the ability to meet their basic needs. Secure alternative housing when Safe House is full, or the client needs a supervised shelter

Performs other duties as assigned by the Domestic Violence Director or Executive Director. Note: The above are representative of duties assigned to this position. This is not an all-inclusive list. QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Social work, Criminal Justice, Human Services or related field; plus two years of experience in case management, domestic violence or a related field preferred. Must possess a reliable vehicle. Must have a New York State Driver’s License and valid insurance and self-transport to program locations, court proceedings and meetings. Must have excellent communication skills and computer literacy. Must be able to self-initiate tasks and work as part of a team. Knowledge of the dynamic of domestic violence preferred.
